About the Compensation Number of Days

Quoting from the compensation page:

"The amount of days that get added equal to the total amount of days Ensage was unavailable minus one"

Can someone explain why it is minus one?

Because "Shit happens" - its' unforeseen circumstances and really it is quite unreasonable to expect to have Ensage updated 30 minutes after a DOTA update goes live. Management has decided 24 hours is a reasonable period of time in which the updates can be implemented - anything longer than 24 hours will be credited to your account and you can cash it anytime you like. You should save them until you have saved the same number of days as your normal subscription period and think of it as a freebie :D

Isn't that the purpose of "compensation" though? Because it IS unreasonable to expect Ensage to work 30min after a dota update, the community allows devs working on fixing Ensage sufficient time to fix the issue.
But that still does in no way explain why there is this "minus one" in the days count.

Let me talk in simpler terms using an analogy, say you go to McDonalds and order 5 McNuggets, but to your surprise you discover there's only 3 in the box.
You go to the counter asking the cashier for compensation for the missing nuggets.
Do they give you 1 or 2?

That feel when nuggets come in packs of 3 or 6 :sisi3:

You seem smart enough to figure it out.
